Die DOLVIK 32 ist ein 9,60 m langes, formverleimtes Mahagoni Runabout mit einer Mercruiser Doppelmaschinenanlage mit jeweils 220 PS und Z-Antrieb. Die aber dafur sorgt, Klassiker zu schaffen und Klasse zu bewahren. Die Geschichte der Dolvik 32 begann mit der Vision, ein Boot zu bauen, das alle klassischen Elemente aufweist und mit modernster Technik ausgestattet ist, das die unaufdringliche Eleganz eines Holzbootes mit innovativer Entwicklung verbindet.

"Um etwas neu machen zu konnen, muss man das Alte kennen." Dieser Satz hat fur uns bei der Entwicklung die entscheidende Rolle gespielt. Weltweit haben wir uns umgesehen, haben verglichen, entdeckt, verworfen und entwickelt. Das Ergebnis sind Boote, die Tradition mit Handwerk und modernster Technik vereinen.

Machart und Material einer Dolvik haben eines gemeinsam: Kompromisslosigkeit in Stil und Technik. Holzboote von Dolvik strahlen neben Soliditat auch immer etwas Ursprungliches aus. Holz als Material hat technische Vorzuge, die fur robuste und wertbestandige Boote ideal sind. Dolvik zeichnet sich neben hochster handwerklicher Qualitat auch durch die Weiterentwicklung klassischer Bauweisen aus.

Ein grosser Schritt im Bau von Holzbooten war die Verwendung von Epoxydharzen. Ursprunglich wurde nur der Kiel mit diesen Harzen beschichtet, um ihn haltbarer und weniger empfindlich gegenuber Umwelt- und Wassereinflussen zu machen. Dolvik geht einen Schritt weiter. Mit der "Cold - Moulding"- Methode. Das Rumpfgerippe wird zunachst mit mehreren Lagen widerstandsfahiger Marinesperrholzplatten beplankt. Bereits diese Platten werden ausschliesslich mit Epoxyd verklebt, nachdem sie vorher auch in Epoxyd eingelegt wurden. Glasfaser- bzw. Kevlarmatten werden dann zur Verstarkung auf gebracht, wiederum Epoxydharz getrankt. Das Ergebnis ist ein Rumpf von unvergleichlicher Stabilitat und geringem Gewicht. Zur Fullung der Holzporen werden nun mindestens vier Schichten Epoxydharz aufgetragen, gefolgt von weiteren sechs bis acht Schichten Polyurethan, das als UV-Schutz dient und die naturliche Schonheit des Holzes in vollem Glanz zur Geltung bringt.

Das Ergebnis ist ein Holzboot, das salzfest und alterungsbestandig ist. Der Pflegeaufwand ist nicht grosser als bei jedem anderen GFK-Boot.

Dolvik Boote sind mit einem Z-Antrieb ausgestattet. Dies erlaubt einerseits ein aufgeraumtes und grosszugiges Cockpit, da der Motor sich im Gegensatz zum herkommlichen Wellenantrieb weit im Heck befindet. Andererseits erreicht man einen extrem geringen Tiefgang, da der Z-Antrieb gegebenenfalls elektrisch angehoben werden kann.

GRYNING was expertly outfitted for short handed passage making when built. She has primarily been captain maintained and constantly upgraded. In 2015 she was converted/upgraded for Polar Explorations and sailed into the most difficult weather conditions in the North Sea, Med and North Atlantic Ocean, without any issues.

With her shoal draft wing keel and user friendly deck layout, she is a perfect world cruiser. GRYNING was extensively refit during winters 1999/2000, 2000/2001, 2003/2004, 2005/2006 and 2013 at the BALTIC YACHTS SHIPYARD. During the winter of 2013 she was at a Baltic yard where a lifecycle service was done.

GRYNING is a truly fast and comfortable passage maker. A lot of the upgrades, such as larger engine with matched propeller, carbon fiber rudder, carbon fiber pocket boom, carbon fiber mast and other sail handling equipment she has received over the past few years have further enhanced her speed and ease of handling.

Under power she has a cruising speed of 8 knots at 2,200 rpm and 9+ knots at 85% engine power. At 6 knots she has a range of 1000 Nm under engine.

She was 1st in class and second overall in the Marblehead-Halifax Ocean Race 2003, 3rd in class and third overall 2005 and 2nd in class in the Newport-Bermuda Race 2008. IRC measured weight 45,930 Ibs (20,834 kg).

She is compliant with OGR 2023 specifications, with minor parts to be replaced. While from 1989, she is a unique yacht in several ways and has a number of features that are usually found on much more modern yachts. Main of these unique features are:
